CA.Ramesh S. Prabhu is Mumbai-based Chartered Accountant with CISA (USA) practicing for over last 27years.
He is partner of M/s. R.S. Prabhu and Associates , Chartered Accountants,
He is a regular faculty and Task force member with Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) on the Cooperative Sector. He is also on ICAI’s expert committees for analyzing various new laws and rules. He is also addresses number of seminars organized by ICAI, WIRC of ICAI, ICSI, Govt Department, News papers, Political Parties, NGOs etc.
He is always co-opted as member of Cooperative Committee for Maharashtra by WIRC of ICAI for last many years.
He is a member of the committee constituted by Govt of Maharashtra to prepare and publish the Auditing Manual for Co-operative Societies nominated by WIRC of ICAI.
He is a member of committee constituted by Govt of Maharashtra for framing the separate chapter for the registration and Cooperative Housing Societies in Maharashtra.
CA Ramesh has practical in-depth knowledge of the Cooperative Housing sector, and is the author of 40 books on issues like conveyance, transfer of flats, parking, collection of dues from members, and service tax for housing societies. Three books authored by him have been published by WIRC and ICAI together. He is an Editor of MSWA Housing Societies Review having circulation of 50000 copies.
He was appointed by Govt. of Maharashtra on its committee for drafting the law for Deemed Conveyance. He was invited to discuss before the Joint Committee of Govt of Maharashtra about the Maharashtra Housing(Regulation and Development) Act, 2012 and most of his suggestions were incorporated in the final approval of the said Act.
He has also represented before the Select Committee of Parliament at the time of framing the Real Estate(Regulation and Development) Act,2016 and made number suggestions. He is the president of Affordable Housing Welfare Organisation of India and the Sub-Committee member of Committee for RERA of FICCI, New Delhi.
CA. Ramesh heads “Maharashtra Societies Welfare Association” (MSWA), an NGO for addressing Cooperative Society issues. MSWA has joined hands as “knowledge partner” with a leading newspaper of Mumbai viz. Daily News and Analysis (DNA) for conducting seminars on Redevelopment of Housing Societies in Mumbai.
Regularly interviewed with number of TV channels such as Magicbricks, NDTV , CNBC Awaz, Zee Business and almost all the Marathi Channels including Door Darshan etc. and writer and contributor in number of news papers like times of India, DNA, Afternoon, Miday etc.
His book on Deemed conveyance has been released by CM Shri. Prithviraj Chavan with a forward Message from Her Excellency Smt. Prathibathai Patil, the then President of India and had occasion to be her Guest at Rashtrapathi Bhavan.
